FAQs

What is the methodology of the survey?

The All In Census ran from 15-22 March 2023. The survey was administered by an anonymous open, online link which was shared within each participating organisation.

No weighting has been applied to the data, however comparisons to existing industry data shows the sample to be broadly representative with a slight over-representation of women.

Regarding the menopause findings, the data shows one in four women would not feel comfortable approaching their manager about menopausal symptoms – is this one in four women who are experiencing menopausal symptoms or is this all women respondents?

This refers to all women respondents regardless of their age.

On the parental leave question 55% of women who responded feel that taking parental leave has negatively impacted their career progression, is this 55% of women who had taken parental leave or 55% of all women respondents to the survey?

This refers to 55% of women that have taken parental leave in the last five years.

Are there plans to repeat the All In Census and if so, when?

We plan to run the All In Census every other year so after 2023, it will run again in 2025.

Is the All In Census global?

The All In Census is a UK trade body collaboration between the AA, IPA and ISBA to improve representation and inclusion in the UK advertising industry, with the aim of creating a workplace where everyone feels they belong.

The WFA run a Global DEI census which is aligned with All In.  The questions cover a similar theme and  comply with individual law in each country.
